Maltin PR hosts roundtable on reputation management during divorce

Our Managing Partner Tim Maltin last week hosted roundtable sessions on reputation management during divorce proceedings, at the ThoughtLeaders4 HNW Divorce Circle.

Tim Maltin discussing reputation management

Transparency has been one of the most important developments in family law in recent years. With open reporting having been extended to all family courts from January 2025, our session highlighted how more high-net-worth divorce cases will be reported in the press. Tim noted that reputation management in divorce will become more common, perhaps even expected, as high-net-worth and high profile individuals seek to ensure that they come across optimally in the public eye.

Reputation management in divorce

Divorce is understandably a challenging and difficult process, and particularly so for high-net-worth individuals, where the press can take an interest in even tangential information. Newspapers are also entertainment and high-net-worth individuals can find themselves the focus of feature articles generated by open court proceedings, or fed to the media by the other side, with or without transparency orders in place. This can damage wider family and business interests such as share value and relationships. It is therefore imperative that media reputation around divorce proceedings is handled expertly.

The ThoughtLeaders4 HNW Divorce Circle is an annual exclusive, invitation-only event that brings together the very best high-net-worth divorce practitioners from across the industry to discuss recent developments.
