We acted on behalf of the claimants in relation to a large group legal action they were pursuing against a substantial international banking group. The action involved money they had lost during an £800m rights issue (subscription for shares) which took place in 2008. The group represents bank branch staff and pensioners alongside institutions claiming compensation.
In advising the law firm appointed by the claimants, we provided significant PR assistance surrounding various aspects of the shareholder litigation. This included drafting and giving statements to the press and handling a diverse range of media enquiries – both national and international. To do this effectively, we set up a dedicated press office to handle enquiries, manned entirely by our own staff.
