Tim Maltin discusses litigation PR at the Institute of Legacy Management Conference 2018
Today our CEO Tim Maltin discussed litigation PR and reputation management at the Institute of Legacy Management Conference 2018.
The institute is a membership body for legacy professionals responsible for the administration of donors’ final gifts to charitable organisations. The audience included key personal and brand custodians at many of the UK’s leading charities.
Estate litigations are often highly sensitive and require a carefully organised litigation PR support strategy. Tim considered the importance of managing the narrative during an estate litigation by engaging the national press with fast responses and simple language.
The value of careful planning and fast reactions immediately post-judgement was discussed; be it by preparing detailed briefing packs for journalists, post-judgement comments beforehand, and mobilising journalist contacts to make sure they attend the relevant court hearing where possible.
Other speakers at the Institute of Legacy Management Conference 2018 included leading Barrister at Radcliffe Chambers, Thomas Dumont, and Lara Soley, Partner at Bates Wells Braithwaite, who also sponsored the event.
